Batman's Adam West Has Passed

Image
The actor known most popularly for his role in the television adaptation of DC's Batman in the 1960s, Adam West, has passed away today at the age of 88. He had lost his fight with Leukemia. He shall be missed dearly. For we shall now miss the man who brought us the campy, yet entertaining show that was sadly short lived, as well as his awesome hilarity that he brought to Seth MacFarlane's hit tv show, Family Guy, as Mayor Adam West. There will be many voids left behind, by this amazing voice actor, but he shall never be forgotten within our hearts.

Battleborn "shifts" into Free-to-play Territory

Image
If you haven't heard yet, Gearbox's overlooked, hyper-stylized MOBA, Battleborn, has gone free to play, it's currently released on Steam and Xbox One worldwide, it's also on PS4 in North America and will be global come June 13th. Gearbox, the developers of the insane RPG, Borderlands, is known to be "unconventional" as is Battleborn. So of course you should always expect nothing less from them even when it comes to how they handle the transition as well. Battleborn has launched into a "free trial without an end date" which is truly interesting. Now this can be perplexing for some as if you didn't read that and go into the Xbox/PlayStation/Steam stores, the game is still shown for the full price of $29.99, ignore that, highlight free trial, download, wait for download to complete, and you're good to go. Now for those players (such as myself) who purchased the game before this shift are probably a bit bummed or even feel like the...

SpeedRunners: Gotta Go Fast! Review

Image
TinyBuild and DoubleDutch Games have released their hit competitive runner game, SpeedRunners to the Xbox One. If you're looking for a game that's easy to learn (as there's literally just the use of all 4 of the buttons,a nd the RT for Turbo) but difficult to master, then pick up this game. If you're looking for something that's family-friendly (unless wagers are made and families are broken, like Mario Kart can do on a crazy Friday Night) then definitely give this game a shot, you won't be disappointed. SpeedRunners does come in 2 variations, there's the Basic edition, which you can snag for FREE, yes FREE as it's apart of the Games with Gold initiative from Microsoft. Then we have the Deluxe edition which comes with all the Add-ons such as extra characters and unique trail skins. If you choose to buy the add-ons seperately, it'll run you about $12, whereas the Deluxe edition will run you about $16. So it's really up to you, how you want t...

Xbox Game Pass is Live

Image
As many of you had seen in the news before about Xbox's Phil Spencer, wanting to have a "Netflix for Games". It would seem that is what spawned the creation of Xbox Game Pass, a subscription based program in which for the price of $10 ($9.99 if you want to be "technical") you have access to a rotating roster of games, which currently has started at 100. There was a beta given to those who joined the Insider Program but it was vastly limited to what was projected to be released once the program went live. Well, as of yesterday, May 24, 2017, Xbox Game Pass is live for Gold Membership owners. The "Full Live" version is set to release on June 1st. So if you're curious to see what's in the library of games for Xbox Game Pass, they're offering a 14-day trial to download and play whatever games are within the library, as well as benefit from the discounted purchases on both games and add-ons. So Xbox players, rejoice, and go check it out...

New Spider-Man Homecoming Trailer

SpeedRunners are racing onto Xbox One

Image
On June 1st, SpeedRunners shall be racing onto the store FOR FREE as apart of Xbox's Games with Gold program. SpeedRunners is an intense 2D multiplayer racing game. I would say it's like Mario Kart but you're running. You have power-ups that you can collect that you hinder your opponent(s) to claim the coveted first place as yours. The game's main objective is to eliminate your opponents and be the last one standing, so I guess it's a bit like Last Man Standing. The levels are varied and offer varying degrees of difficulty as there's many ways to get around on the map from multiple path ways to accelerated pads to help either keep you in the race or push you further ahead. Honestly, give this game a chance if you're Xbox, because I mean come on now, it's free!

Tips and Tricks in Portal Knights

Image
Greetings fellow Knights, with Portal Knights now released in the US, you may be looking for some great tips and tricks to help you on your journey to be the ultimate Knight, but just needed some extra guidance. Well hopefully these tips from our resident Knight-in-training, FhaTe, has been scouring the interwebs looking for a great tips to share with fellow Knights. So here are 12 helpful Tips and Tricks he found to get started or to help get through rough patches. #1: Mining Bows If you're looking for a faster way to mine, because the pickax only lets you break up on block at a time. Why not consider using a bow? If you can manage to line up your reticule you can destroy 2 blocks at a time instead of one, making mining just a little bit faster, that is until you discover the Mining Drill which allows you to remove 4 blocks at a time! Then you shall be called, Mole Knight! #2: That reach In Portal Knights your reach is really long, like very long. You can mine and pl...

Overwatch's Anniversary Event

Image
By:  Derrick Pittman Today at 8 AM PDT, Overwatch's Anniversary event will kick off! It will run to June 12th, the game's usual three week window when it comes to its events. The event has been pretty low key and the theme is simlpy, the game being out for a year. There was a trailer out for the anniversary event and all people know is that there will be new skins and new arena modes. I've just got back into Overwatch and I have missed a lot. so I can't wait to see what the loot boxes have to offer! Source:  Forbes

Lethal League Review

Image
Lethal League, developed and published by Team Reptile, is an indie fighting game that is a uniquely weird combination of Ping Pong and target practice. You have a small roster of 6 very different characters from a young baseball player like Raptor to the cybernetic crocodile like Latch. Your objective is to hit your opponent with a ball, as you hit the ball, it'll gain speed moving faster and faster. The faster the ball moves (can hit 1 million mph) the more hectic and panic-inducing the match becomes, where you'll go from strategic bunts and hits to spamming the hit or bunt buttons hoping to land the hit to turn the tide. Lethal is a fun game, that supports up to 4 player local co-op which can lead to some awesome team and FFA battles. Lethal League is definitely a true party game, that has the potential to entertain for hours. Gameplay is simple, the graphics are rather nice, and the bumping soundtrack gets you moving and keeps you loose even when the tensest of momen...

Destiny 2 Classes make Marvel Proud! (Opinion Theory)

Image
DISCLAIMER: This is an opinion piece, doesn't not reflect any opinions of the Blerdy Boys as a collective whole, but just from one of the over-hyped fanboys who helps to run it. Thanks. May 18, 2017, will probably be known as one of the most pivotal days in gaming this year. As on that day, yesterday at the time of writing, the world was blessed with gameplay and information for the second installment into Bungie's hit sci-fi FPS rpg, Destiny 2. There was a lot of information given in the live stream, but the main thing that was important (well at least to me) were the new supers. Honestly they're really quite awesome. I say this for two reasons, 1) They seem to be 100% full aggressive supers, 2) They remind me of Marvel characters. This may be a bit of a reach, but allow me to explain for just a bit, I'll even have some video inserts to help. So let's get started! First let's talk about the Titan, aka the "Void Captain America". This one isn...

Wild West Online Funded!

Image
About a week ago, I spoke about the Western MMORPG, Wild West Online, which had a lot of people mistaking it for Red Dead Redemption 2. I personally assumed (didn't state in the article) that this game would be going into a Kickstarter campaign (as crowdfunding is a big thing for indie developers as of late) and maybe even an Early Access time period as well.  Now a week later, I'm talking about this game and stating that WWO, is not going to be doing either of those things, and will be going to be releasing upon completion of the game. They shall be giving players a full and robust Western experience as well as playable female characters, because I guess initially the only types of people in the West who were badass were men, but hey that's a good thing to see them represented. If you'd like to see more about the game and also check in to see if there's going to be an Alpha phase or any possible closed betas, check out their website here . By: Rashaad ...

Marvel Heroes Omega Xbox One Release Date Revealed [Update]

Image
Finally, after waiting and waiting, hawking Gazillion's various social media outlets, and complaining about not being able to play the game as those on the PS4 got to revel in the sweet, sweet awesomeness of playing Marvel Heroes Omega on their end, we've got our release date for the Xbox One version. That date is, June 20, 2017, sadly that's a month and some days from the time of this article being written but it still feels like a long time to wait for a game that's been anticipated for quite some time. From the article I read on Xbox Wire , I'm not entirely sure if the game is going to straight into Live or if it will follow the same road-map as PS4 and have a CBT to Live launch, but we'll have to wait and see. I personally wished it wasn't such a long gap in between the PS4 and Xbox One versions, but it could've been worse where Sony could've bought a timed exclusivity deal with Gazillion, and we'd be looking at a time frame of 6 mo...

Raiders of the Broken Planet

Image
Mercury Steam, the Spanish indie studio known for the Castlevania: Lords of Shadows trilogy, has a new game in the works, the third person action-adventure game, Raiders of the Broken World. Now if you haven't heard of this game, don't feel bad, because neither did I, I was informed of this game by a friend of mine. The CBT was held this past weekend (5/13-5/14). Upon playing I have to say that I was beyond pleasantly surprised by the game as whole. Though there were some bugs, but that's to be expected in a CBT, so it was something that could be overlooked for the time being. Upon playing you're placed into a level that works like a tutorial and has learn the basics of the game, while also giving you some awesome visuals (if there's a video floating around on the net, look for the tutorial elevator scene, it's epic!). Once you finish the tutorial you can then join in on the main game, which in this test was just one level. In terms of gameplay as a who...

Wild West Online: The Game the West Needs

Image
[screen from: www.playwwo.com] If Rockstar's, Red Dead Redemption, RDR, doesn't show how much we love our Westerns, then someone needs to call Will Smith and tell him to dawn the hat and pistols and get ready to saddle up once again. But I digress, I don't think we need another movie, but we definitely need some awesome gritty John Wayne type of kill em dead and shoot outs with a crowd who yearns to see who's trigger finger is the fastest in the land. Wild West Online,WWO, published by DJ2 and developed by, 612 Games, knows that the PC world missed out on a gem with Red Dead Redemption, and this shall be the RDR that they never got. Personally, this is something that I think everyone has wanted. WWO is going to be a PvP MMO that plans to expound on RDR's multiplayer, which is really good! Those who yearn to be the next Billy the Kid, will be able to become the most wanted in the land, as bandits will have a bounty placed upon their head, in which other play...

Marvel Heroes Omega Shifts to Open Beta on PS4

After several weeks of Closed Beta grinding, massive amounts of keys given away, many people streaming and hyping the game up, Marvel Heroes Omega, is finally going to be moving from CBT to Open Beta! Though there shall be a wipe, so everyone who got any heroes to Level 60 will have to get ready to do it all over again, but if you loved the game, this shouldn't be much of an issue at all. Open Beta begins on May 23rd for everyone, but if you bought into the CBT with a Founder's Pack or bought in the Premium currency, Gs, you shall be given Head Start access, starting on May 19th. The OBT for the PS4 will have 38 heroes available for play at launch, but if you want Iron Fist or War Machine, you'll need a Founder's Pack or else you'll have to wait 6 months before they are released to the public. You'll be given chapters 1-9, Operations, Midtown Patrol, Danger Room, Legendary Missions, and all 3 levels of Trails to delve into. As an added bonus Daredevil will ...

NBA Playgrounds: Review

Image
Saber Interactive's indie basketball game, NBA Playgrounds is the most recent basketball game to come out that has shied away from the traditional simulator such as 2k or Live for that sorely missed arcade flair of NBA Jams. Touting the signature 2v2 match up and a splash of NBA Streets, Playgrounds is a breathe of fresh air, but sometimes even the air can be a little bit stale. NBA Playgrounds has been stated to be somewhat of a spiritual successor of sorts to the aforementioned games, NBA Jams and NBA Streets. Playgrounds does bring back the caricature-esque NBA superstars with their own unique art style to further embrace the arcade-y feel. Overall the game can be fun, shooting, stealing, shoving, and dunking as you aim to fill up your Lottery Bar to get one 6 possible power-ups to help shift the game in your favor. Yet even with those elements done quite well, some decent music, the lack of hype the announcers in Playgrounds makes the game feel a bit disjointed...

Travia Returns Early Play Review

Image
Developed by Zemi Interactive and based off the PC MMORPG Travia Online, Travia Returns has a style that can compete with the likes of Nexon's Heroes of Incredible Tales , or HIT . The comparisons can be done as they share similarities, but doesn't feel like a clone at all. Travia Returns has some fun mechanics in place to give players a nice variety of things to do while they explore the world. As you load in, you're able to choose from 1 of 3 classes, a Great Sword user, a Long Sword user, and Dual Sword user, sadly the classes are gender locked to male for the first 2 choices and female for the latter. Gameplay is fun and fast paced and has some depth to it. The maps are nice and enemies have good textures as well. Sadly this is all that I can say, as for some reason when I try to complete mission 1-3 the game freezes on me and I can't get any further. If I'm able to get it to work on my Google Pixel XL, I will come back and further update this issue...

Wonder Woman comes out in less than a month. We have a snippet of Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) in action. Although it is mostly Wonder Woman in action and she looks amazing kicking ass and taking names! Woman Woman comes out in theaters June 2. Article by:  Derrick Pittman

Parity Clause may keep "Gang Beasts" from releasing to Xbox One

Image
Many console players probably have no clue as to what Gang Beasts is being that it's been in Early Access on Steam. Yet the funny brawler in which players use weird looking avatars to declare war upon friends has been a success over on Steam and is set to come out of Early Access and launch on both PC and consoles. Gang Beasts  is confirmed to be launching on PC and PS4, but what about the Xbox One? Well that may not be a reality as Microsoft has a parity clause which Microsoft wants non-exclusive games to launch on the same day as they would on rival consoles. For AAA and some larger indie studios, simultaneous releases may not be much of an issue as they have the resources to do have multiple version ship same day, but this seems not to be the case with Boneloaf, the developers of Gang Beasts . Hopefully there will be something worked out between Boneloaf and Microsoft or else this could be a game that is will not be coming to Xbox One. This will most likely mean that o...

Darksiders 3: IGN First - Review

Image
Before the dismantling begins, it is understood that this is Pre-Alpha Gameplay. If you'd like to see the video for yourself, the "IGN First" video is linked down below. So with that out the way, let's talk about what was observed in the game, shall we? Well for starters Fury looks good (though we mostly see her from the back). Her character model has a nice athletic build, her flowing vibrantly red hair, and very conservative looking outfit tied her together nicely. Despite her looking nice, her animations in terms of combat movement seemed a bit annoying, especially her dodging. Side dodges has Fury doing a flashy mid-air cartwheel. which in combat a simple juke would seem to be more fitting especially being that it seems quite slow when she goes into the animation. Her back dodge is fine, though that also seems to be a bit slow too. So here's to hoping that they either simplify her dodges or perhaps make them faster, being that this is an action game ...

Titanfall has gone mobile

Image
Do you enjoy Respawn's Mecha-based FPS, Titanfall? You do? Good! What about mobile games? Yes!? Alright. Would you be happy if they were both together? You would!? Great. Well then, excited mobile gamer, Respawn has announced that they shall be bringing Titanfall to the pockets of both Andriod and iOS users. With Nexon publishing and Particle City developing, Titanfall: Assault (that's the name of the game) sounds to be a promising title. It shall keep it's PvP-centric roots, but rather than run-and-gun, Assault  is an RTS, with objective based matches. The game will have a card system in which players will build decks of Titanfall's key gameplay elements, Pilots, Titans, and burn cards. So there will most likely be a decent amount of depth and preparation required to be successful in this game. Currently, there's no information on whether or not this will be a paid title or a free-to-play title. Let's see how this one fairs as it was reported that t...

Paladins hits Open Beta on Consoles.

Image
So have you been wanting to play Overwatch, but you just never seem to be able to snag it? Perhaps you have been waiting for it to go on sale more often, but can never seem to catch it? Well if that's that's the case, rejoice, as Hi-Rez Studios (the developers behind the popular MOBA, Smite) has released Paladins into Open Beta. Paladins has been around a tad bit longer in time than Overwatch, but Paladins had a bit of an identity crisis in the beginning of development and implementation, which forced them to have to delay release and kept it under the Closed Beta moniker for safety as they fleshed things out. Though it's been in Open Beta for PC/Mac for a fair amount of time, May 3, 2017 marks the day that Hi-Rez released Paladins to the masses on both the PS4 and Xbox One consoles. Whether you're looking for another team based game to play with friends, another game to compete in (there's a good following on the eSport circuit), or perhaps looking for a f...

Are you a fan of sharks? Sharknado, Sharknado 2, Sharknado 3, or maybe even Jaws (the one good movie in this lineup of shark based movies.) Now what if there was a way to summon a massive shark in Battlefield 1, would you go through all the work to do so? If the answer is yes, then here's the video from IGN that will tell you how to just that. Summon the Mighty Megalodon P.S. You'll need a lot of friends. Source: IGN
